In our work-obsessed society of today, people are often judged and scrutinised on how much work they do, rather than what they are actually worth. This practice of judging and ranking people purely on how much work they do has led many people to succumb to working jobs they don’t want to do, like a crummy office job rather than live the dream life they’ve set out since they were young, like a prestigious place in the music industry, or becoming a respected scientist. The burden of being forced to do something you don’t want to do just so you can make things easier for yourself can weigh down on not only you, but your family as well. Most jobs see people going to work for hours a day, away from the family that the workers love and care for. This division can really impact on marital and parent-child relationships as well, as the worker would be more focused on the job he didn’t even want in the first place, rather than spending time with his family. - Genius Annotation by Philip Terry Graham #worksmarternotharder
