“In that day the Lord of hosts will be for a crown of glory and a diadem of beauty to the remnant of His people, for a spirit of justice to him who sits in judgment, and for strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate.” (Isaiah 28:5-6, NKJV) One word seems to crop up in any description of an encounter with our Savior in His heavenly office: Glory. This transforms us such that sometimes others see a change in us even when we dont see it in ourselves. Jesus gives us “beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness, that we may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.” (Isaiah 61:3) Also, when God is at work in our lives, we make right decisions where previously we would have made wrong ones. Not only do we begin to see ourselves from God’s perspective, we begin to seek His wisdom; we desire to please Him instead of just pleasing ourselves. This is the process the Holy Spirit is constantly working within us. “And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him—the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the reverential and obedient fear of the Lord.” (Isaiah 11:2, Amplified) Yes, this applies in a special way to Jesus, but it also applies to us if we are in Him. Being in Christ grants us power over Satan in all his various manifestations. “Behold! I have given you authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and physical and mental strength and ability over all the power that the enemy possesses; and nothing shall in any way harm you.” (Luke 10:19, Amplified) Even when it looks like we’re losing we’re still winning, as long as we of the grace of God that is found in Christ Jesus our Lord. So put on your crown, your spirit of justice, and your strength—they’re yours for the asking! God’s not a respecter of persons (Acts 10;34).
