In the current year our cruise is sailing between Cochin & Lakshadweep Islands and please find below the details. Package schedule are as under (its a 5 day package to visit 3 islands of Lakshadweep On the date of departure , reporting time at Sea Port for check in is 10 AM and on the date of arrival from Lakshadweep , the cruise will berth at Cochin sea port by 2.30 PM Day 1 09 AM. Pick up from Airport/ Railway Station / Hotel in Cochin. (Pickup cost excluded) 10 AM. Report for Check in Board MV Kava ratty. 11 AM. Boarding You will be provided a neatly furnished Air conditioned and bath attached Cabin in the cruise on twin share basis Lunch and Dinner will be served on the cruise according to your choice of food preference. Enjoy the ocean from the cruise deck and often watch dolphins escort you and the sunset in the evening. While sailing, you will be shown a video presentation on life of the people in the Lakshadweep islands, the marine life, flora and fauna and on water sports available in each of these islands. After dinner rest in the cabin for a busy day 2 Day 2 After breakfast in the cruise, disembark from the ship to go into the island 1, Kavaratti Island .The island of Kavaratti lies 360 km (190 nmi) off the coast of the state of Kerala at10.57°N 72.62°E. It has an average elevation of 0 metres (0 feet).The closest island is uninhabited Pitti islet, located 24 km (13 nmi) north of Kavaratti. The inhabited island of Agatti lies 54 km to the NW and the uninhabited Suheli Par 53 km to the SW. Kochi is the closest major city on the Indian mainland at a distance of 404 km (218 nmi). Tourism is one of the primary industries on the island. The island has pristine white sand beaches, favored by tourists for sun bathing. The calm lagoons on Kavaratti Island are ideal for water sports and swimming. The waters around the coral atoll are rich in diverse marine life. The Kavaratti Aquarium has a rich collection of corals and a vast collection of tropical fish specimens. The other major industries on the island are fisheries and agriculture. Coconut is the dominant crop on the island. With the ascent of tourism, the fishing industry has seen a major decline. Day time is absolutely yours and free to engage in any kind of water sports and swimming, kayaking, etc. Many of the sports are already included in the cost of the package. However, a few of them , which are classified as adventure sports and excluded from the package but are available for you at extra cost . As all the activities in the beach and the island are controlled by the Tourism department of the Govt of India , you need not worry on being cheated or being charged hefty . Lunch and day time refreshments will be provided on the Island Evening, after sunset, you will be boarding the cruise and we will sail to the 2nd island Day 3 Kalpeni Islands Morning, on Day 3 you will be in Kalpeni Island and the activities are similar to Day 2 but in Kalpeni Island. Kalpeni is an inhabited island in the Union Territory of Lakshadweep, India with a population of 4418 (2011 Census). Kalpeni is 218 km west from the port of Kochi and lies 71 km south of Androth and 201 km to the NNE of Minicoy, with the broad Nine Degree Channel between them. The uninhabited Suheli Par atoll lies 139 km to the east of Kalpeni. Kalpeni forms a single coral atoll along with the uninhabited islands of Cheriyam, Tilakkam and Pittiislet. The eastern and southern shorelines of the island have accumulations of coral debris, the result of a violent storm that hit the area in 1847. Kalpeni was the first island in the Union Territory where women were allowed to go to school and get an education. Evening you will get back into the cruise and will sail to the 3 rd island , Minicoy Islands Day 4 Minicoy Islands Morning, on Day 4 you will be in Kalpeni Island and the activities are similar to Day 2 but in Kalpeni Island Minicoy is the second largest and the southernmost among the islands of the Lakshadweep archipelago. It is located 201 km to the SSW of Kalpeni, at the southern end of the Nine Degree Channel and 125 km to the north of Thuraakunu, Maldives, at the northern end of the Eight Degree Channel. The atoll is 10 km in length, having a maximum breadth of about 6 km. The closest geographic feature is the Investigator Bank, a submerged shoal located 31 km to the northeast.Evening you will get back into the cruise and will sail back to Kochi. Day 5 We will be back in Cochin by around 2 PM and you will be escorted to the railway / station/ airport / Hotel as per your further travel plans to homeland (Dropping cost excluded). Goodbye to Cochin, with sweet memories of the beautiful exotic islands in Lakshadweep.
