In the passed few days we have seen a lot of people that are engaging in regular physical activity. Be it amateur competition, personal training, horse riding etc. All had knee, hip or lower back pain and have said they have "weak glutes" or "underactive glutes", "underactive VMOs" ... all also had an issue in the phase of gait when the foot pronates. When their pronation improved they were able to successfully load and unload their VMOs and glutes for the first time...not just in gait but in their activities also! They were also pain free. We have said it before...100% of people that we see have an issue on the pronation spectrum. This movement/interaction with the ground appears to be CRITICAL and being efficient at it is CRUCIAL for efficient motion ... So, what benefit does stopping it give to the body?
