In the past I have been torn about the participation of Messianic - TopicsExpress

In the past I have been torn about the participation of Messianic Jewish leaders in the Christ at the Checkpoint conferences in Bethlehem. But something played out over the past couple of days in the USA with Texas Senator Ted Cruz who was invited to speak to a gathering In Defense of Christians in Washington, D.C. The event was billed as an event “to raise awareness about the threats to Arab minorities” posed by groups like the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). As soon as Cruz mentioned Israel the pretenses dropped. This was a pro-Hezballah. Cruz said, “I’ve certainly encountered audiences that disagreed with a particular point of view. But this virulent display of hatred and bigotry was remarkable, and considerably different from anything I’ve previously encountered.” I told the attendees that those who hate Israel also hate America. Now I have been torn about the Christ at the Checkpoint conference because I have a strong desire - along with every Israeli ministry leader I know and admire - to encourage and see reconciliation between Palestinian Christians and Israeli Messianic Jews. Such reconciliation exists but it takes courage and also surrendering engrained convictions to the word and will of the Lord. I have personally been through surrendering closely held convictions - like my feminist views - when I came to the LORD, but my desire was to please God, not hang on to my own ideas of what constituted justice and equality. This is what many Palestinian Christians have failed to do. That is the bottom line of the issue. I believe we have passed the time where we can bend over backwards trying to reconcile with those who are trying to establish their sense of justice and equality over bowing to Gods. As Israelprayer/Arrows from Zion, I will no longer support Christ at the Checkpoint as a place of seeking reconciliation between believers in Israel. We are in serious times and the lines are being drawn. I hope those who have given their lives to seek this reconciliation will be led of God first and foremost in everything they do, but for me, I am only going to support those who have surrendered to God on this issue and come out in agreement with His own love of Israel as their own.
