In todays attempted mea culpa, NFL commissioner, Roger Goodell tried to put a warm and fuzzy face on his and the football leagues view of women. HERES A BIT OF TRUTH: NFL cheerleaders make less than 1,800 dollars a year. Yes that number of zeros is correct! Less than minimum wage! Lawyers have been well paid to concoct a job structure where cheerleaders are officially independent contractors not employees. If they just distributed the money that they paid those lawyers, among the cheerleaders, things might be more equal. But no. The NFL racks in many billions of dollars a year. Annual players salaries hover around the 40 million dollar mark. Yet, for cheerleaders, they get less than 18 THOUSAND dollars a year. Thats how much the NFL values and respects women.
