Incident occurred on 12/11/2014. Officer was fired less than 3 weeks later for tasing a 76yr old man for resisting arrest. This is actually what SHOULD happen. And its a VERY swift timelines with the video evidence. Im interested in seeing how other cities handle these...and will they continue to have different standards when the one resisting arrest is black or a woman. Typically we see the officer on paid leave. Or also entitled to retire with full benefits. HOWEVER, Im also interested in getting a spot light shined on the Prosecuting attorney. Because RARELY are the officers brought up on any charges, as a civilian would be. The Prosecutors are the ones who actually decide whether or not the officers will be charged, and what types of charges will be brought against them. Often times they work too close to the police department. So they are hesitant to bring up charges against people they work with.
