India is serious about Minority Community The Ministry of Minority Affairs was created to ensure a more focused approach towards issues relating to the minorities. It facilitates the formulation of overall policy and planning, coordination, evaluation and review of the regulatory framework and development programmes for the benefit of the minority communities in the country. Users can find information on development programmes, schemes, five year plans, progress and scholarships etc. The National Commission for Minorities (NCM) safeguards the constitutional and legal rights of minorities in the country. Information about the functions of the NCM, recommendations, minority population, annual programmes, State Minorities Commissions and budget details are available. Decisions of the Commission and publications are also provided.
