Interesting thing on Wikipedia, out of 188 of the best known Puritans only one was confirmed to have been Arminian in their soteriology. Amazing men like Richard Baxter, John Bunyan, Stephen Charnock, Jonathan Edwards, John Flavel, Matthew Henry, John Owen, Solomon Stoddard (grandpa to Edwards), Thomas Watson, Isaac Watts, etc. who were thoroughly Reformed, or largely so, stand as giants of the faith once delivered. What an amazing outpouring of grace God shed on His people! People used to cry for revival; we need a new Reformation! Poor Morgan Llwyd was a lone dissenter. I am always amazed at the pride of modern man hundreds of years later with his views on God and sovereignty and the neglect of those who have come before. Do we really think we can match the work of God in our era with theirs? Certainly not! The Spirit still teaches those who humble themselves before Him.
