Invisible airwaves crackle with life : the introduction to Spirit of Radio by Rush. Its about the magic of radio and for me there was a magical quality about Radio Luxembourg. I used to connect the earpiece to my transistor radio, put it under my pillow and listen to Luxembourg. The thought that someone broadcasting in a studio a long way away could be beamed to your radio was awe inspriinng to me as a 7 year old (thats when I started listening.). It was sad to know that the station was going off air in 1991 but I enjoyed the farewell programme. Good to see familiar dj faces like Tony Prince and Stuart Henry. It was shocking the way other stations treated Stuart but Luxie stood by him and said basically Any time you want a job here, youve got one which was great. All the djs involved with this page have got my admiration for their sterling work.
