Ira Education Foundation (updates) Our balance in the bank as of today is N431, 245.89. Many thanks to the donors and those who promised to help us. Our first spending season will be in September, Tunde Abolarin (Egbon) will liaise with the Principal of Ira Grammar School to see where we can intervene within our limited budget. Key teaching staff is vital as well as improvement in teaching and learning environment. How can students learn without a well equipped library? This must be a priority as well. A section of the school or classroom should be made (renovated) as library. We can start to build the library - Small drop of water makes a big ocean! When I went there was no library at all that should be a starting point. Also in our long term plan we are thinking of computer laboratory so that the students will be computer literate. Our friends, sons and daughters of Ira abroad pls. help us with laptops. If you have used computer/laptop or find one on sales you can donate to IGS pls. send it/them home (IRA). What we are thinking (planning) is a centre that can serve the primary, secondary and people of our community who wants to be computer literate. Join us pls. to improve our community through third or voluntary sector so that we can inform the government that we are doing our bits as a community and we expect the government to do its part.
