Is your horse a "cribber"? Before running out to grab a cribbing collar know this! Research is showing cribbing can be caused by digestive discomfort. Ulcers and gas build up can result in that nasty wood chewing behavior. When a horse cribs they are blowing air out rather than sucking it in. Consult a veterinarian to eliminate physical causes for this behavior. You can also try adding Alfalfa or Aloe Vera oil to their diet which calms the acid in the stomach. Avoiding feeds that are sweet or break down into sugar (such as oats) can also provide relief for your equine.
