Islam truly honors women. If Islam emphasizes mothers role in family, it doesn’t want to prevent her from partaking in society. Some have misunderstood it and think women should either be good mothers and spouses or take part in social activities. This is wrong. Hazrat Zahra (PBUH) is epitome of balance between family and society; While doing her maternal duties, she played a big role in leading society of her time.
