Islamic Relief Bangladesh attended the seven-day (26th October-1st November) ‘PKSF Development Fair 2014’ in the city’s Bangabandhu International Conference Centre. Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) organised the development fair as part of yearlong celebration of its silver jubilee. There were 125 stalls of different development organisations, microcredit organisations, government agencies, IT firms and research organisations. In the fair, IRB demonstrated its unique products made by NAWAR Handicrafts, an enterprise of underprivileged women of Rangpur District in Bangladesh, supported by Islamic Relief Bangladesh under its Livelihood and Community Development Programme. Some 900 women are now busy with generating and scaling up their income through producing and marketing of their products like Bed Sheets, Baby dress, winter clothes, Canvas Shopping bags , Canvas Calendar etc. IRB also demonstrated its activities, success stories and future plans to the visitors. It was a good experience for IRB to be able to share its ideas and knowledge with its fellow organizations and learn from there.
