Israt Jahan August 28 How to Obtain a Trade Licence in Bangladesh . Womens Empowerment in Bangladesh. A special note for the women, who are willing to start a business (specially SME): In order to carry out any business in Bangladesh one needs to obtain a Trade Licence from the Local Municipal/City Corporation/ Upozilla or Union Parishad Chairman . For example, if you reside at the capital city Dhaka, you need go to DCC [Dhaka City Corporation, which is functioning from two zones, being North and South] . You shall arrange the following documents with an application to avail a Trade Licence: Fill in an appropriate Application FORM; Business Address; [ Tax receipt(s) if the land owned, or Rental Agreement/MoU]; Applicants photographs ( passport size x 3 ); T.I.N ( Tax Identification Number) may be required under your personal/organisation name; Application Fee; [Application Fee would vary, depending on the business type and jurisdiction; check the fee schedule]. Subject to your business and its nature you would need additional documents. For instance: A. Limited Company: certified copy of incorporation certificate along with Memorandum and Articles of Association from RJSC; B. Industries/Factory: Everything mentioned above along with the following documents: (a) No Objection Declaration (NOD); [ NOD from two neighbours ]; (b) Location Map; (c) Copy of Fire Certificate; (d) Declaration on non-judicial stamp to abide by the rules & regulation of DCC. However, some specific document(s) are required for the following type of business, e.g. : Factory/CNG station/Explosive Chemical - No Encumbrance Certificate from the Fire Service and the Environmental Bureau; Clinic/Private Hospital - permission from the Director General of Health; Printing Press & Residential Hotel - Permission from Deputy Commissioner (DC); Recruiting Agency - License from Manpower Man-power export Bureau; Arms and Ammunition - Copy of Arms License; Drug and Narcotics - Copy of Drug/ Narcotics License; Travailing Agency - Approval from civil aviation authority. Subject to relevant Rules and Regulations, upon verification of all documents and Application Fee, the authority would issue a new Licence . Licence Renewal: Renewal procedure usually takes place every year. Before your licence renewal, please contact/consult your nearest concerned Tax office along-with the previous Trade License and TIN.
