It always touches me so deeply when the victims of U.S. warfare thank me for my efforts in speaking out against the individuals responsible for their plight. Today I received a message in my inbox from Yasser Juma, an Iraqi refugee who joined the many other millions of Iraqis in fleeing his home for the interests of staying alive. It is messages like Yasser’s that serve as a vivid reminder to why I invest the time and energy that I do into condemning U.S. sponsored violence. Below is Yasser’s unaltered message. I hope that these words resonate with you and compel you to take a vocal stance against the unnecessary destruction waged in America’s name. Whether or not the many victims of U.S. militarism receive justice is entirely up to us. By taking a stand and speaking out against these crimes we undermine the illusion that has paralyzed the American public into blissful obedience. When this illusion ends for a critical mass of U.S. citizens, the military industrial complex will no longer have the capability to continue sustaining its ranks to carry out the will of political despots and their corporate sponsors. Yasser writes: Hello, I just wanted to say that your page and its content is the best truth anyone can find and i thank you for spreading it. I myself am iraqi that fleed the cursed land and lived most of my life in Europe. Even though Europe is a nice place to be in i still feel homesick. I want to go home but cant. I cry blood because of how much my heart get stabbed when i hear what is happening daily to my land and how everyone wants to have a piece of it like a cake. i feel countryless. I have lost everything because the rich and powerfull swines in washington stole everything i had and call me a terrorist if I resist. Sincerely, Yasser Juma Yasser, mark my words: I will never stop speaking against the institution responsible for the plighting of so many innocent lives until I take my last breath. Until my brain is deprived of oxygen I will not remain silent. To a warless world, to a world where senseless slaughter is condemned by the common man.
