It has been said repeatedly over the past six years, and there is ample evidence to support the claim, that President Obama has abused his authority and conducted so many power grabs, so as to create a “Constitutional crisis“. This assertion has recently been backed up and confirmed by Democrat insider and former Clinton operative Dick Morris. According to Newsmax, Morris recently appeared on Fox News with Sean Hannity to promote his new book Power Grab-Obama’s Dangerous Plan for a One-Party Nation. Morris believes that Obama is attempting to turn the US into a “Banana Republic” that is ruled by a single party, the Democrats. “What he really wants to do is stack the deck to assure permanent Democratic control over the country – a one-party democracy, like Mexico had and Japan has had,” Morris said. Morris says this explains why Obama has thrown open the borders and is enabling more illegal immigration. It explains why he has worked so hard to oppose voter ID laws, and why he has supported rule changes in the Senate that allow for easier confirmation of judicial and Cabinet appointments. It also explains Obama’s massive expansion of the dependency class, through Obamacare, increased welfare and unemployment, and the incessant attacks upon Republicans and “red” states. The push for more government dependency, which Obama believes roughly equates to Democrat support, is the reason behind his sabotage of the US economy through increased taxes, spending, and debt, not to mention his energy and environmental policies, which are strangling American businesses. “Obama is a left-wing president who is desperately determined to impose his radical agenda to transform our democratic government and free market economy into his socialist-style ideal before leaving office in 2016,” Morris writes. “He’s a president who is obsessively fixated on keeping the left in permanent power by turning our two-party system into a one-party monopoly.” Unfortunately, Dick Morris is probably right. Obama has certainly been grabbing and consolidating power within the Executive branch, often unconstitutionally. There is no doubt that he has expanded the welfare state and government dependency, and is seeking to add millions more to those rolls through amnesty for illegal immigrants. Obama’s power grab must be stopped. A GOP controlled House and Senate, while not exactly the savior of the country right now, can at least stop or slow down Obama’s agenda, buying America a little more time to find and elect someone who will return our nation to it’s Constitutional Republic foundation.
