It was amazing to have all of the messages when I turned me phone - TopicsExpress

It was amazing to have all of the messages when I turned me phone back on after the race today. As many now know I raced Ironman Arizona today a bit under the radar. I wanted to prove to myself that I could push my limits beyond what I thought capable and see where that took me. The conditions today were brutally windy but we all had to deal with it. I had an aggressive goal and gameplan going in. It took me well out of my comfort zone on many levels. I pushed the 3rd loop on the bike when the wind was at its nastiest and set myself up for a great run. I came off the bike and my plan was to run as fast as I could for as long as I could. I accomplished that. Thank you to Jennifer Hanley-Pinto for being the devil on my shoulder when I wanted to slow down and to Alyssa Majesko for supporting me during this build-up. I know I got crabby...a lot. In the end, for the first time, I crossed the finish line of an Ironman knowing that I had nothing left in the tank. I surged when I could and suffered more than I ever have. And that means that I accomplished what I came here to do: See if I had the courage to fail.
