Its Historical Romance Romance Monday, and I am happily typing this as I sit on my balcony overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Mexico (I come here several times a year all by myself to catch up/get ahead on work.) Anyway, I decided to catch up on some reading on the flight down, and I grabbed One Good Earl Deserves a Lover by Sarah Maclean. (Yes, I know; Im way behind. Its HARD to keep up with so many good romance writers.) Ladies (and gents)... It was fabulous. Im usually not a fan of the I-need-you-to-ruin-me trope, but Sarah made it work brilliantly. The character of Philippa is so fully-realized; even when she does things that we would never do, it makes perfect sense. I completely understand why this won the RITA this year!
