Its a magical spot the Ohau waterfall. Beginning December the seal pups exist here for a time while mums go out to feed. I said to Claire how odd it was that now us humans traipse in and out that they still leave them there. I guess if they dont come back to a massacre they think were alright :) It is a very earthy and spiritual place, the forest leans in and caresses you while you go deeper toward the waterfall. Its well pathed now by foot and construction but you can still envisage a time when it was raw. As we walked in a bus of tourists drove up. Disembarked. Marched in. Photos. Marched out. Made me smile at how disconnected we are. They were after baby seals and seeing none they powered out, missing the stand of beauty that is bush, that is all year round, that is earth. I wonder to myself sometimes, how can we communicate how very precious everything is? How do we help people see? Out to the peninsula to see seals hard at work being seals. Thank you Braceys. Your little unit is so strong. Thank you for the nachos Claire, if you werent already married.. :) A grand day. With a firework display provided for Hazel and Kennady but just as much enjoyment for us! Lovely xxx
