Its going to be another wintry day with a mix of rain, sleet, hail and snow showers. Cold with high temps of just above freezing, and feeling cold in the often strong westerly breeze. This afternoon temperatures and wind speeds will begin to rise ahead of the next depression. A wet end to the day with a thaw of any lying snow / ice at low levels. Wind speeds will gradually increase to gale force, severe gale for a time in the more exposed locations. Remaining windy with gales overnight. Thursday will starts windy and wet, but a touch milder than of late. The rain will be replaced by showers, sometimes heavy. High temps of around 5 or 6C. Wind speeds will fall for a time during the day but then pick to severe gale through the evening. Watch your barometers, pressure could fall quite low during the day! Thursday evening will see the strongest winds for Skye, which could gust to 70mph in the most exposed locations in the west and north. Winds will back westerly or north westerly and temperatures will begin to fall. We are then back to squally wintry showers, mostly of hail but perhaps some wet snow to low levels. Friday will be a colder day with wintry showers and a strong north westerly wind. We can expect sleet, hail and perhaps snow showers to low levels again, with high temps back down to 2 or 3C.
