Its late afternoon on Monday, our day off. Its 97 degrees, and 67% humidity. We slept in this morning til well after 8. Pastor Reggie made a breakfast of huevos con chorizo, homemade tamales made by a lady in the church, some hot hot sauce, another grilled xcatic pepper, y frijoles con queso. A pastor that came up under Pastor Reggie, who has a church of about 200 in Palenque, Chiapas, Mexico came this morning, and he had had a brain tumor removed and it left him blind. Before we knew this, when we saw them walking up, The Lord spoke to me and said to lay hands on him and pray. When I told Kenneth what The Lord said, he said, yes, I know...I have a word for him. After the man and his wife visited with Pastor for a while, we asked if we could pray. They told us his issue. We prayed, Kenneth delivered the word, and then, I laid hands on his wife and prayed and gave her a word. They were very appreciative. We expect a miracle!!! Then, Bro. Reggie needed to go to Sams Club, so we went too! ...looks just like a Sams!! ;-) He then took us to the main mercado downtown....WOW what an experience!!!! Little booths, with everything under the sun being sold in row after row, after row, after row. Everything from shoes to fish, to every vegetable and fruit, to flowers and clothes and hats, chickens, meat, ...anything and everything...cramped and crowded and smelly. A woman in El Camino Church has a shoe store there. I bought a pair for myself (to help her business) and 2 pair for my Marquez granddaughters...hope they fit!!! Then, we went to a big candy store in the mercado, owned by another El Camino member. We bought mango con chile candies and Japanese peanuts - like the ones we had on our flight from Mexico City...and they were good!! Pastor then took us to meet his sister, a doctor. She had fans in her house, which was sooooo nice to have moving air!!! She gave us ice cold water...aaahhhh!!! Then she loaned Bro. Reggie her almost new Mitsubishi van. Talk about aaaaaahhhhh!!!!! It has a working AC!!!! Bro. Reggies van has an AC but its more like just air blowing.... it gets cool sometime. Also, the sliding side door on his van is broken, so he will take it in today to be repaired. At 5pm, hes taking us for chicken dinner!!! Tomorrow evening, well have another service, in another church. Wednesday, we go to Merida. Thursday is another day off, but it will be spent getting re packed and gathered up to come home. That night, they want to give us a farewell meal and fellowship at 7pm. So Pastor Reggie says well eat and sing and praise and pray. Friday, we leave the house here about 4:30am, for our 6am flight home. Ive tried to take pics and video, but, its just too much to document. Its quite the experience!!!!! :-)) The sights, the sounds, the way people function and operate is very interesting. THE MOST amazing thing is how they can fit 3 vehicles AND a motorcycle where we can only fit 2!!!!! You cannot imagine!!!! We go down streets that are not as big as our alleys. Im serious!! EVERYTHING....I mean EVERY structure is concrete....with thick walls. Things are very so close together, us Texans, who spread out every which a way, would have a MOST difficult time adapting.
