Its not about work, I love hard work, its not about people, I like people, its about how industry treats people, thats what its about, and I loath just about every damn industry. They under pay, over expect, under organize, and oversee EVERYTHING. And last and above all, they do not give a DAMN about you, they just want you do what your told. THEY will tell you whether you MAY wear a pocket knife, whether you MAY wear cargo pants, and you can be sure the metal detector is watching you as well, (Its just procedure) Entry level positions want at least one year of experience, often 3-5. How is that entry level? Companies often advertise a positive work environment.... I believed that back when Greece was still fighting the 100 year war... Its been a while. Yes there are positive work environments, yes there are well payed jobs, yes there are jobs in which metal detectors do not exist, or where pocket knives are acceptable, and where the secretary does not act like you are a born criminal, but find all of those traits in a single job more than once in a million. I do not have a dream job, my dream is to have a company which supplies dream jobs. To hell with industry. OK done ranting. (Almost) I might add, make sure the application process WORKS, goodness! Multi-billion dollar industries with problem laden and even non-functional application pages. I could talk for an hour, for 10 hours, but Ive made my stance clear without delving into even less publicly appropriate language. I hate corporations like the plague, Im going to find an INDIVIDUAL to work for, someone who does blame all problems on management, who blames them on the subordinates, who blames them on routine and paperwork which doesnt care.
