Its still summer in my head, yet I have parked Lee Child and John Grisham for the while to tackle something more substantial. Im taking on a grown up book: The Luminaries. I must say this book is not the mindless, still enjoyable, but plot-quickly-forgotten read that I have become accustomed to. Every sentence is purposefully constructed, and many sentences are...well, so long...I have to reread them to remind myself of the subject and various objects along the way. Assessment so far...pretty amazing, and after chapter 1, I am still engaged. Bravo Ms. Catten! Bravo! themanbookerprize/books/luminaries
