Its the End...but the moment has been prepared for. My digital journey through Time and Space is finally over after 14 months and 10 days, 795 episodes, 240 stories, 11 Doctors, 45 Companions, 370 hours. .... and it seems not a moment too soon. I especially loved watching the Matt Smith episodes. These were the ones that were most recent in my memory, yet so many of them were better than I remembered. Who was it that said The Memory Cheats? I had so many favourites and rated SIX stories with 5 stars. Hard to order them but here goes: 1. The Name of the Doctor 2. A Good Man Goes to War 3. The Doctors Wife 4. Vincent and the Doctor 5. Asylum of the Daleks 6. Hide A staggering 14 storiies got 4 stars and the River Song episodes seem the most memorable of them: The Time of Angels, The Pandorica Opens, The Impossible Astronaut, The Wedding of the River Song. Unfortunately the two Clive Owen episodes: The Lodger and Closing Time were not as good and only got 2 stars. My least favourite story of the era was The Vampires of Venice which also got 2 stars. As a result, my Average rating for the Eleventh Doctor was 3.595. This puts Matt Smith second behind Patrick Troughton. However the Matt Smith era has two episodes to go: The 50th anniversary special - The Day of the Doctor and The Christmas Regeneration special (as yet untitled). If he were to average 4.5 for these, he will reach number 1!!! Here is the current table of the Doctors based on their average story ratings: 1. Patrick Troughton (Second Doctor) - 3.619 2. Matt Smith (Eleventh Doctor) - 3.595 3. Jon Pertwee (Third Doctor) - 3.583 4. Peter Davison (Fifth Doctor) - 3.500 5. David Tennant (Tenth Doctor) - 3.472 6. Sylvester McCoy (Seventh Doctor) - 3.417 7. Christopher Eccleston (Ninth Doctor) - 3.400 8. Tom Baker (Fourth Doctor) - 3.286 9. William Hartnell (First Doctor) - 3.103 10. Paul McGann ( Eighth Doctor) - 3.000 11. Colin Baker (Sixth Doctor) - 2.818 See all my story ratings on link below: It has been a real pleasure to watch the first 50 years of Doctor Who. I hope the next 50 years are just as good!!! doctorwho50.blogspot.co.uk
