Its time consuming and annoying to juggle child, bags, car keys when heading out for a short trip to the shops – especially in this cold weather. It’s so much easier to strap your child into their car seat with their coat on but you may be compromising their safety. Try this test......... Strap your child into the car seat with coat/jacket on and pull the straps snug. Then unbuckle, take the coat/jacket off, and rebuckle the car seat. See the slack in the straps? When your child’s coat flattens during a crash, that’s how loose the straps will actually become. If you wouldn’t buckle your child in with the straps that loose, you shouldn’t let your child’s wear their coat/jacket in the car seat.
