Its time our traditional leaders who I strongly respect tell us how they are going to repackage or rebrand the celebration of the Bugum and the Damba festivals in order to attract investors, tourists and sponsors than to concentrate on needless matters with the young and dynamic Tamale Mayor - Hanan Gundadow. For years what positive results have we gotten from the celebrations of these two important festivals especially the bugum festival which serves as a serious tourists attraction if not serious bleeding from our young men with the unfortunate ones bleeding to death sometimes after the celebration. Compare this to other indigenous tribes in Ghana celebrating their yearly festivals. For instance, the likes of the Akan groups namely the Ashantis, fantes and the Akyems and the likes of the Ga-Adangbe just to mention but a few. They package them with good adverts and attractive themes and this is telecast on our national televisions stations and news portals accross the country. Why cant we replicate this good moves than concentrate on writing long letters to get the MCE removed from office and mobilising to lock up the Metro office. The copse cannot suddenly become the meat of the soup. Seen?? #mymind.
