It’s beautiful, it’s first love and it’s tender between the two high schoolers, who don’t seem constrained or affected by any internal wranglings with ‘coming out’. In fact, that’s not even an issue, as these kids are presented with as much normalcy as anyone else. In making it ordinary, just as Leo strives to lead an ordinary life, we don’t get distracted by what’s tragic and we’re filled with hope instead.
