It’s going to be big… but it’s never too late to make it bigger! Make that last call, text or send an email now! There is still time to make sure that every last friend, work-mate, neighbour or distant cousin twice removed knows about this protest. They’ll thank you for letting them know (and that’s a lot better than telling them how good it was the day after it happened!) At the bottom of this email are the updated bits of information including bloc plans and more. We didn’t choose this fight. The government brought it to our doorstep. They made it this generation’s task to defend the NHS and the rest of the welfare state, to stop the widening gap between rich and poor, and to make sure that the next generation have a life worth living. So pull out the stops to make this demonstration the curtain raiser to a new wave of opposition to the government. Leaders from unions representing 1.5 million workers will be telling the demonstration about the strike action they are taking on 10 July. NHS campaigners will be publicising their new Jarrow march to London in August. Anti-war campaigners will be explaining why they are protesting at the NATO summit in Wales at the end of August. Lots of speakers from various current strikes and campaigns will bring their experiences to the platform too. The TUC will be publicising their national ‘Britain needs a pay rise’ march set for the 18 October. And to wrap things up we have a wonderful lineup of political acts, comedians, spoken word and musicians, and with the weather looking glorious it looks like well be seeing the day out in the sun at Parliament Sq. Finally, we have a special demo discount for our upcoming comedy Fundraiser. Look out for the stall in Parliament Sq. Join us tomorrow. Join the resistance. And dont forget to let people know whats happening by using #NoMoreAusterity and sharing as wide as you can. Action point checklist: Make those last calls. Have a listen to the People’s Assembly’s Lindsey German on BBC Radio 4’s Any Questions this evening. Pick up a People’s Assembly broadsheet on the demo advertising all the coming protests. Book up for the Stand Up to Austerity comedy night. Give us some money! Well have a collection point so please help us pay for this demo and continue campaigning by donating generously. See you all tomorrow, From all at the Peoples Assembly Against Austerity team Ps. Heres some of the final bits of additional information: Check out the FAQs and blocs plan here. There are 19 blocs organised into themes and union blocs. Local People’s Assembly groups should assemble throughout the demo wherever they feel best placed. If in doubt, ask a steward!
