Ive Never Signed Any Release Against ACA--UBONG EKEFRE Akwa Ibom State politicians have been urged to shun the use of the social media technology as a platform to carryout mischievous act of blackmail and character assassination for cheap political gains. This was the reaction of Mr. Ubong Ekefre, former Transition chairman , Mkpat Enin Local Government Area in a counter release he made available to Weeklypost over a false Online media statement entitle; MIKE SABASTINE GUBER AMBITION, A BLACKMAIL TAKEN TOO FAR, purportedly putting his name as signatory to such mischievous release. Mr Ekefre who frowned at the development and denied having knowledge of the said online media report, insisted that the said concorted press statement was not only impersonating but also misleading and grossly mischievous, calling on the general public to disregard such information. The former council boss stressed that as a committed members of Akwa Ibom Consolidation Alliance,(ACA), a fast growing socio-political organisation in the state, the group never compromised its ealier stance on the cardinal objectives of promoting the ideals of Gov. Godswill Akpabio Uncommon Transformation and their unflinching support for Emmanuel Udom gubernatorial ambition come 2015. While dissociated self from that act of mischief makers, Mr Ekefre emphasised that at no time did Sir Emem Akpabio or any members of great Akpabio family were either aware or authorized the issuance of a press statement using any particular media platform whatsoever to convey such information as claimed in that paid false online report. He described it as a mysterious internet tape worm seeking to mal-nourish the cordial relationship existing between members of the great Akpabio family. While expressing shock over the unfortunate incident, Mr Ekefre noted that he could have ignored the false paid media propaganda targeted at his person as one of those prangs by some intellect who has misdirected their talents to cause confusion, but not for the weight of assault carefully directed at smearing the reputation of Sir Emem Akpabio whom he held in high esteem, hence the need to respond appropriately. According to him that i am sad about the use of the benefit that accompanied the advancement in media technology, i still hope that we can harness its potentiala to educate, positively inform and communicate the right values to the masses; the kind of values that would promote truth, peace and mutual co-existence
