Ive always loved mopokes (or frogmouths) since I used to look - TopicsExpress

Ive always loved mopokes (or frogmouths) since I used to look after injured ones as a boy. Now they have their own song, thanks to Simone Keane. Do make time to listen; you wont be sorry :) Mopoke in the Karri (Words by Giles Watson. Music and performance by Simone Keane.) The mopoke on a karri branch was melting into bark; he closed his eyes and raised his bill and conjured up the dark. He conjured up the dark and slept – wood-grained in every feather, mottled like a karri-stump worn by southern weather. Worn by southern weather, he was grizzled as the bush when the fire has spent itself and tinder turns to ash. When tinder turns to ash, the night casts cobalt through the skies; the mopoke on the karri-branch opens sulphured eyes. He opens sulphured eyes and shakes his dust into the dark. The mopoke charm is on my breath; I’m melting into bark. https://youtube/watch?v=sHF764b0Lig
