Ive been home for 48 hours. It feels so good to be home, but there is s constant worry that Im doing something wrong thats going to mess up my recovery. Every little twinge of discomfort makes me think Ive done something...though Ive been taking it easy. I am impressed Ive been able to take two showers, do my own ointment and gauze and get my garment on. The whole process takes 60-90 minutes and makes me want a nap. I miss having Paty give me peace-of-mind that everything looks good. But from what I can tell, the incisions are healing well. The thigh incisions are especially awkward and I have to be very careful with them. Im still swollen. The swelling keeps me pretty hunched over. He told me to act like a 90 year old woman and I certainly am, without option! Still trying to figure out the best place to sleep. I tried the couch the first night and my recliner the second night. My bed is pretty tall so thats not an option right now. Unfortunately, my sleep is all over the place. I usually sleep a few hours, wake up for a bit, and repeat that cycle about 3-4 times a night. Im someone that flips sleeping on each side a lot at night which isnt an option right now. The good news is, my dogs are home. They have been very sweet and passed out very quickly once we got home. Toby is sleeping on the couch with me and Sadie right next to the couch. My family gets back tomorrow and theyll be here until Wednesday and my stepmom will be here until Saturday. It will be so nice to have the help!!
