Ive been seeing a story shared on fb a lot lately about the girl who chose to die on her own terms. While I agree that its a sad story and understand the compassion to her story as I have compassion for her too. But there is a movement to get these laws passed and sad stories shared on social media are good ways to garner public support of such laws. I warn people to be careful with supporting laws like these. Dr assisted suicide is a slippery slope and puts all of us in danger. We know how badly the system works and how corruption finds its way into everything. While I am a big supporter of hospice and comfort care at end of life, I absolutely oppose dr assisted suicide. I imagine a future of insurance denying life saving measures for people who fall into a certain category and promoting suicide instead. God knows what other corruption will seethe its way in.
