Ive got a question for yall. This is the guy who rules my flock with an iron beak. He is very gentle with people but he is absolutely vicious with any animals or birds that come around. He will herd the rest of the birds under the coop if a hawk Flys over. Hes 2 years old this month. A while back I was messing with him and I noticed his spurs for the first time in a while. I was shocked at the length of them. While he has never shown any aggression towards people, these things are close to 2 inches long. If he ever wakes up on the wrong side of the roost he could do some serious injury to someone. My question is this: a) is there anything to do about them as far as cutting them that wont hurt or cripple him. B) am I being overly concerned for this. I would rather not have to put him in the freezer if he attacks someone when he has a bad day but if he hurts someone with those spurs I will. Any advice is appreciated.
