Ive seen it proposed more than once that the home of Brown might - TopicsExpress

Ive seen it proposed more than once that the home of Brown might refer to a Native American dwelling. My initial reaction is strong and negative. I dont believe the FF would use Brown to refer to indigenous people or anyone else. Moreover, it is a proper noun, capitalized, which strongly suggests that it is a name, not a code word to refer to a group of people, a species of animal, or anything else. I think it would be unwise to jump ahead of the clue sequence by trying to solve the middle of the poem before the beginning is understood. That said, a treasure hunt like this does require us to play a mental game of chess, thinking several moves ahead. We can follow the clues from a hypothetical starting point, and then look to see if the next clue fits. So, for example, if we think we know where warm waters halt then we can start looking for a canyon too far to walk and a river(?) to put in below the home of Brown. Whats the takeaway? Dont start by looking for Brown, but dont ignore it either.
