This article is neither aimed at slighting or undermining the governments effort to further improve the living conditions of the average Nigerian, but seeks to question the motive behind these sudden moral & empathic leap from the status quo. First of all would love to query the sudden decision to compensate victims of the 2011 post election violence, It took almost a full tenure (4years) to investigate and come to the resolve that #3bn should be spent compensating them, i wonder why that is? could be mere coincidence but then again the Otedola/Farouqs saga gets resurrected after a bi annual comatose status in the national assembly after mass defections from the ruling party, as well as consistent attacks on the government for aiding and abetting corruption. I can only imagine three possible motives. 1.The government seeks to finally settle all high profile financial cases before possibly stepping out of office. 2.The Reps just had a sudden awakening to their responsibilities and are eager to see justice done 3.The GEJ/PDP government isnt insensitive to the plight of the people and is in one fell swoop trying to buy some public good will by proving to the masses that the aiding and abetting of corruption allegations levied against it by the opposition are false as well as sending warning signals to the reps not to Kick the Hornets nest with this their cowardly defection project. which ever of the three u prefer, pick. If u have a proposition of a totally different motive thats OK, the bottom line is that justice should be served accordingly irrespective of whose Ox is gored. The question I would love You all to ask Yourselves is WHY NOW. God bless You and Good morning #NigeriaCanChange
