I’m just off the phone with Citibank customer service given I was feeling guilty about getting a credit line statement with a zero balance. The cost to mail, the cost to process, the wasted paper. This has been going on for a while! I asked them to stop these mailings and I was told that my account could not be paperless. I said that it had no balance so just close the account to stop the monthly waist. I was told I need to complete a form and pay a $74 processing fee. I told the person on the phone I would not be paying the $74 so is the only option to continue to get the mailing? He said yes. I’m left with recycling each month and feeling guilty about not being green with Citibank left with the costs. Seems to me to be pretty stupid. I thought when the US banking sector went through a meltdown a little sense would follow..., looks like they still have money to waste!!
