‘JONATHAN MUST NOT CONTEST 2015 ELECTIONS FOR PEACE TO REIGN’ – NORTHERN ELDERS The statement above is another verbal masturbation and diarrhoea of the mouth from a bunch disgruntled, unscrupulous and self-appointed Northern Elders. This inciting statement is similar to those made by their Southern compatriots – Chief Edwin Clark and Asari Dokubo and other vested Western interest. Nigeria is bigger than all these regional warlords put together. Northern youths should please ignore these ethnic jingoists who are doing everything possible to heat up the polity. Jonathan has every right under the Nigerian constitution to contest the 2015 election unless the supreme court interpret the pending case of whether taking an oath twice as a president means two term in office. In my humble opinion however, having watched in dismay the failing state of our dear country; the insecurity, the collapse of our educational sector, the continues closure of our major industries, the incessant unrest in the core Northern states and the Niger Delta, the genocide in Bama and the recurring crisis in Rivers State and the lackadaisical attitude of the present government to nip it in the bud, the inability of the government to provide electricity, water and other social amenities, the deliberate act of promulgating IMF policies (Removal of fuel subsidy) that has inflicted pains on the already disenchanted masses, the inability of the present government to fight corruption with pending cases like the NNPC probe report, the NEPA probe report, the Pension probe report, the N255million Aviation probe report and the $11Billion missing money in NNPC, I will like to plead that Dr. Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan should kindly save Nigerians another four years of waste, misrule and retrogression by not contesting the 2015 election. ~Stephen Akuma~~
