JONATHAN & ROSALINE GOFORTH served as missionaries in China when the Boxer Rebellion broke out. They had to flee for their lives and left everything behind. They traveled to the coast and were attacked along the way (beaten, hacked with an axe) until they made it to a friendly ship. Their Baby had no clothes, only a blanket. Rosaline sat on the boat as it prepared to leave dock, thanking God for their lives and reminding herself that they were in His loving hands even in all this. A small sampan pulled up next to the ship and a crate was tossed aboard almost right at her feet. It had the name ‘Goforth’ on it. It had been shipped over 6 month earlier and was just now arriving. It was filled with an abundance of necessities, including baby clothes.
