JUST BECAUSE I CANT DOESNT MEAN I WONT... Here are MY answers if I were among the Top 15 candidates of Bb. Pilipinas 2014: 1. What city in the world best suits your character? - TAGAYTAY, because it embodies both the simple charm of the province life and at the same time, the progressive excellence of a city. Just like myself, I may be ambitious and I may enjoy the modern life but I still take pride in where I come from because without it, my character and individuality will not be entirely whole. 2. As a beauty pageant contestant, what will you say to people who lack self-confidence? - I will tell them to surround themselves with kind and supportive people, may it be their family or friends, because the appreciation that you will get from them will fuel your own appreciation of how blessed you truly are despite all your doubts and worries. 3. How would you use your crown to push for your advocacy? - Well you know, a crown is just a crown, whats really vital is the power that comes with it. Since Im passionate about educating children who cant afford to have one, I will use my influence to encourage sponsors from different sectors of the society to help out financially so that we could sufficiently fund project and programs benefiting the education of this countrys less fortunate but very worthy children. 4. Theres a song that says all we need is love. Apart from love, what else do we need? - Apart from Love we need Faith; faith in God, faith in others and faith in yourself. Once you learn the highest form of believing, and add great love to the equation, youll have the perfect formula for survival, no matter how difficult or uncertain life may be. 5. What is the greatest advantage of being a woman? - Bearing a child and giving birth. Theres no greater joy than the miracle of giving life. Its a responsibility and it doesnt always turn out well, but I guess its true when they say that the moment you see your child, every pain and sacrifice will all be worth it. 6. 7. What particular current event or latest news affects you the most and why? - The Pork Barrel Scam, why? Well because its pretty much like taking a bullet to your head. No one deserves to be cheated and no one has the right to cheat. As a Filipino, it pains me to know that a fellow Filipino is taking advantage of my hard work and the involvement of some government leaders just makes it quite unbearable. But I am praying and I am hopeful, we all have to be. 8. Do you think being a beauty queen is a plus or a minus in landing a serious job in the corporate world? - Beauty, is always a plus, it only becomes otherwise when you dont use it for the good. Everyone deserves a good opportunity and when that opportunity comes along, everyone should have a fighting chance including beauty queens. As long as you have the competencies and you have a good attitude towards it, you will land a worthy job. I dont see any reason why beauty queens should be an exception. 9. If you were given a chance to talk before an international audience, what will you tell them about Filipino heroism? - I will use that platform to let them know that we Filipinos are among the most resilient people in the world. Our country may not be the richest, it may not be the most progressive but when tragedies come, whether man-made or natural, we always come through. We are our own heroes even when we ourselves are victims. A lot of unimaginable misfortunes have happened and yet look at us, were still here with our heads up, ready with a smile and hopeful for tomorrow. 10. What quality is inherent in a Filipina that will make her win in that pageant (Ms. Universe) ? - I believe Filipinas represent the Women of the World. Because of our rich history and the cultural influence of the different nations that have led our country in the past, Filipinas have turned into the perfect mix of different cultures and heritage. We cannot be boxed and we will never be ordinary. Our diversity makes us stand out and it doesnt matter where you take us, we will surely prevail. 11. What do you think are the reasons why the Philippines became a powerhouse of beauty in 2013? - We were hungry for victory. And considering that 2013 has not been a kind year for our countrymen with all the calamities and controversies, every victory served as a saving grace for the rest of us telling us that despite all the hardships, theres a Filipino out there fighting for us and wanting to give us a hope to hold on to renewing our sense of pride. 12. Name one thing that you would sacrifice for a Binibini crown. - Well I love to eat so Id probably have to give up my food cravings for a Binibini crown. Its not so much about vanity but its more of staying true to your commitment of keeping in shape not only to look good but most importantly, to inspire other hopefuls to eat healthily and put in the necessary work for the pageant. You lose some, you gain some. 13. If you could go back in time, what would you change and why? - I would go back to the time when I thought I was madly in love with someone but as it turned out, I really wasnt. I wouldve saved us both the time and I wouldve learned a thing or two about honesty. It really wasnt mistake per se but it wasnt just right because I know in my heart of hearts that we both deserved better. 14. Would you fall in love and marry outside of your religion? Why or why not? - Yes. Well falling in love is a mystery yet to be revealed. But one thing I know is that it goes beyond any skin colour, race or belief. The real question lies on how much youre willing to go AFTER you fall in love. As for myself, I would at least try to risk it all because love is so rare that it might never come again once you lose it. 15. What about being a Filipino woman are you most proud of and why? - I am most proud of the fact that Filipino women are admirable homemakers and that we really keep our families together by taking care of them, from the moment we first send our kids to kindergarten up to the time that they get married and have families of their own. We will always be needed and we will always be valued because we are the core of every Filipino family and we never get tired of taking care of our families, a quality worth shouting out to the rest of the world. P.S. I know that it would be a different case when youre on national television in front of thousands with a 30-sec. timer, but I just wanted to at least try and share my thoughts :) I DESERVE IT...KEMS! #BbPilipinas2014 #BryTalks
