JUST TO WARN ADMIN ABOUT THIS WOMAN PLEASE BE AWARE!!!! this is a very sad post to write but we feel that you all have a right to k now what has been going on behind the scenes. As many of you already know, Julie Francis put a post up about her buying a ps4 for her son at her toys r us store, only to have it stolen from the boot of her car. She said that the police and the store had been informed etc etc. I phoned the toys r us store that she went into, and spoke to the manager. He knew nothing about it at all. He asked all the other managers and customer service staff and they also had no information. The police had not been in touch with the store regarding the incident either as they would log the info down. Certain things that she was telling us, such as cctv got her paying for the ps4 was not true as their cctv was not saving any data, and the duplicate till receipt she claimed the police had was a lie as their printer was not working and they couldn’t print any duplicate receipts at all. When I asked her certain questions regarding it she became very evasive, not answering my questions. This is why I deleted her comment on the group giving her bank details which she had done freely after so many of you had said you would send money to help her. When she saw that I was phoning toys r us she suddenly said that the police had found the ps4 after the “males” who had committed a burglary from a young mums house whilst she slept were caught and they were bringing her ps4 back that evening for her! The case that she quoted on the group actually happened before her “theft” and the suspects were remanded until 1st December, so they had appeared in court before the theft from her car! Also the pawn shop that she had pawned her chain were giving it back to her ”free of charge”. A few Mums had contacted me regarding her post, and after talking to some of those, it also transpires that on 21st July, she asked for donations for a veteran she was helping. As usual, a lot of mums offered to help him, and sent money, gift vouchers and presents. I have contacted the veteran in question, and he has confirmed to me that he received very little money, no gift vouchers and no presents! I have today been referred to the Action Fraud Squad from the Metropolitan Police by the Devon & Cornwall Police. I have given all the information to them and they will be sending an officer around to talk to me. We have deleted and blocked Julie from the group and I have alerted other admins on other groups that she belongs to so she doesn’t try the same there. It is entirely up to you whether you delete her as a friend or not, but I would ask you NOT to contact her regarding this. The police have said it is best not to make contact with her. If any Mums have given Julie money/ gift vouchers/gifts for any reason at all, would you please either private message me or phone me on 07738815865. We need to gain as much information as we possibly can to pass on to the police. If any mums wish to also report anything to the police, I have the telephone number and name of who to contact as well as the crime reference number. Please pm me for details of that. We have not taken the decision to report Julie to the police lightly, but as other charities are also involved we felt we had to do something. Our priorities lie with protecting and supporting you Mums as much as possible. We will keep you updated with any progress. Thank you ladies.
