Jackson County Office of the Sheriff - Job Posting Applications will be accepted 5/20/2014 through 6/6/2014 Position: Patrol Deputy Pay Rate: Salary Range: $18.61/hr. - $26.99/hr. Summary: Under the supervision of the Sergeant and general supervision of the Captain, patrols an assigned area of the County to control traffic, prevent crime or disturbance of the peace, and arrest violators of State and local laws. Responds as directed by dispatch or necessitated by hazardous situation to a variety of complaints or calls requiring police assistance. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. CERTIFICATION AS A POLICE OFFICER IN THE STATE OF MICHIGAN. Good communication skills. Must successfully complete a written exam, interview, background investigations, physical examination and drug screening. Ability to work any shift, weekends and holidays. Exam date: July 10, 2014.
