Jan 9 - The entire matter involving the sugar cane farmers, as well as the livelihood of the industry is rather compelling. We at this corner would go as far as saying that the situation is ripe for combustion, both figuratively and literally. Even to those among us who are not altogether too well versed in the matters involving this industry, We dare say that it is relatively clear that the current environment is prime for some sort of noteworthy occurrence. In effect, where things stand, depending on the route chosen, by either of the principles involved, it could prove a watershed moment in the annals of Belizes history, on a variety of counts. We invite you to share your perception of what Prime Minister Dean Barrows said during his press conference yesterday. As for us, we interpreted his presentation to be akin to that of advocating union busting, for the lack of a better description. When last we checked, things of that nature boast the real potential to prove extremely volatile, with repercussions spanning the gamut of existent interests...bar none! In any event, what is your take on the PMs message? See press conference on Channel 5 News edition.channel5belize/archives/108213
