Jess Update: Living with Metastatic Breast Cancer requires scans - TopicsExpress

Jess Update: Living with Metastatic Breast Cancer requires scans every three months in addition to labs monthly to monitor cancer in the body. Jess scans occurred this week. This is always a week that is filled with anxiety. On Monday, Jess had a CT scan and a bone scan. On Wednesday, she had a bone strengthening treatment, labs drawn for her tumor marker blood test (TM) and met with her oncologist. The ideal state for scan results is hearing news cancer has not spread further in the body especially into vital organs. That is the news Jess heard but she also had to then wait for the tumor marker blood test results to come back. The TM results came back today as 107 which is down from 216! The normal range is under 30 but the goal for Jess is to continue to see a decline with her current treatment and this was a BIG DECLINE! We could not be happier! Time to celebrate! Did we also mention Jess started her third round of chemo on Saturday and decided to play in an alumni basketball game? She scored double digits!!! She truly is unbelievable and so inspiring. Please continue to send her positive thoughts. This is a daily battle and today was a BIG WIN!! MFMS!!💗💗
