ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDING, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Temporary, seasonal position performs semi-skilled manual work in public works construction and maintenance activities. Work is preformed under the direction of the Street Maintenance Supervisor. Duties will include but not limited to assisting with maintenance on Village streets, leaf pick-up, snow plowing, bike paths, brush chipping, litter pick up, parkway restorations, sign maintenance, shop maintenance, and assisting other departments as directed. The hours for this position are Monday – Friday 7:00a.m. to 3:30 p.m. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must be at least 18 years of age. High School diploma or GED, be able to follow verbal and written instructions, have a valid Illinois Driver’s License, able to use various hand tools, stand and walk for extended periods of time, lift on occasion 80 pounds, and work outside. SELECTION: Candidate screening process may consist of an application review, skills testing, employability assessment, interviews, reference checks, and other verifications. Chosen candidates will be subject to a background and criminal history investigation, and qualifying pre-employment medical examination and drug screen.
