Job Opportunity APPLICATIONS DEVELOPER (JAVA) Security Clearance/Level required: Active Secret clearance or higher is required. Location: Seaside/Monterey, CA area Start Date: ASAP End Date: Currently funded through 09/26/2014 Potential follow-on performance (contingent on the Customers exercise of any out-periods): Continuous performance following the contemplated Period of Performance above is expected. It is clients expectation that an additional performance period will be at least from 09/2014 through 09/2015 Background: Our client, with a US Government customer, has a need for an experienced Applications Developer. This individual will work closely with both the Client PMO and the Agency Development teams to provide technical support of applications and developing and modifying applications. We are looking for someone with enough experience that can come in and add technical value to the team and is also strong on the soft skills (someone with strong communication skills, out-going personality, that can interact at the user, management and technical level, can work within the team, is willing to help out when needed). We are not looking for the type of person that comes in everyday and buries themselves in their cubicle and just writes code. Job Duties: • Coordinate with the Client PMO and the Functional Lead to develop the iEHR Portfolio of software applications. • Perform development of Java software applications, as required, to reach release goals. • Gain an understanding of the clients technical environment in order to make informed recommendations for iterative steps to long term goals • Coordinate with the Functional Lead to conduct annual release planning and iterative updates to the iEHR Roadmap • Coordinate with the Functional lead to provide input and feedback to artifacts: o Project Plans / Schedules o Project Charters o DoDAF Diagrams o Functional Specifications o Technical Specifications o External Service Descriptions o Conformance Criteria o Interface Control Documents • Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced application developers, specifically providing input and feedback throughout the development cycle • Support Project Management activities relative to the software applications including management of schedule, communications, risks/issues, quality, etc. Basic Skills: • Minimum 5 years of experience working on full software development lifecycle required. Knowledge and/or experience with some combination of the following technologies: Maven, Spring, CVS, Oracle WebLogic, HTML Servlets, Web Services, Java, J2EE, J2ME, and XML.Extensive Java knowledge preferred. Knowledge and/or experience with Oracle and/or SQL required. • Ability to perform on-site at Seaside, CA, • Ability to perform duties outlined in position description to the satisfaction of project managers, client and customers. • Skilled in interacting with customers from numerous organizations extensively through technical exchange meetings, formal reviews at key program milestones, system demonstrations and briefings, etc. Send your professional resume with position name: [email protected]
