Full-time Senior Associate, Membership at Global Impact Investing Network in New York, NY USA Organization Description: The Global Impact Investing Network is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to increasing the scale and effectiveness of impact investing. Impact investments are investments made into companies, organizations, and funds with the intention to generate measurable social and environmental impact alongside a financial return. They can be made in both emerging and developed markets, and target a range of returns from below market to market rate, depending upon the circumstances. The GIIN addresses systemic barriers to effective impact investing by building critical infrastructure and developing activities, education, and research that attract more investment capital to address global challenges. The Investors’ Council (IC) is one the GIIN’s core program areas designed to address the critical needs of the emerging impact investing industry. The IC is an invitation-only leadership group for active large-scale impact investors. It provides a forum for experienced impact investors to strengthen the practice of impact investing, collaborate to address shared challenges, accelerate learning about new areas in the field, and contribute to industry development. There are currently 55 IC members, including foundations, development finance institutions, banks, family offices, pension funds, and fund managers. The Network Membership is for organizations interested in deepening their engagement with the impact investing industry. Members of the GIIN are connected to a thriving peer community and gain formal access to industry information, tools, and resources. This program was launched in October 2012 and there are currently 128 Network Members from 25 countries. In addition, Investor’s Council Members also participate in Network Membership activities. The GIIN Investor Forum is a global gathering of impact investors that brings together investment professionals from around the world to discuss the practice of social and environmental impact investment in both developed and emerging markets, examine trends, opportunities and challenges, and network with peers and preeminent experts in the field. This is a new program and the inaugural conference will be held in London in October 2013 in partnership with the City of London Corporation.
