John and I thank all of you for the love, support and prayers - TopicsExpress

John and I thank all of you for the love, support and prayers youve sent our way these past few days. Since many of you have asked how hes doing let me share an update. John is making steady progress and is far better than when he was admitted to George Washington Hospital in D.C. last Friday. His stubbornness, which is what many love in him and what helped accomplish so much for this country, is on full display! It is that stubbornness coupled with his determination that is helping him to heal. His wit, wisdom and, yes, his twitter capability, remain strong, too, and he is charming all the nurses and most of the doctors as well. Last night we worked on his annual holiday poem, which he will share soon. So what next? John is likely to be at GW Hospital in Washington for two to three weeks with the goal of intense rehabilitation therapy. We deeply believe in the power of prayer so for those we thank you. Beyond prayers, anyone wanting to drop him a note or a card (especially the funny ones!) he would love to hear from you! Messages can be sent to him on his Facebook page or here and I will share; cards and notes to the Dearborn office at 19855 West Outer Drive, Suite 103E, Dearborn, Michigan 48124 and the team will be sure to forward them to him in the hospital. John wants to come home to Michigan and isnt happy about not being there. It will be a different kind of holiday for us this year which leads to a little reflection. We are lucky and thankful to have so many good people in our lives. What we are experiencing is what many other families are going through and we have to believe there is a reason. We are all part of a community that shares in the good times and supports each other in the difficult ones. For that John and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
