Join the Coffee Party Movement Why does the US House fight so hard against 21st century America? The race-based gerrymandering that elected many of them was designed to do just that. Of the 234 Republicans elected to the 113th Congress, 174 of them -- 74 percent -- represent districts with non-white populations under 30 percent. Narrow that slightly and you find 112 members -- 48 percent of GOP members in the House -- who represent seats that have a non-white population of less than 20 percent. —Chris Cillizza, Washington Post
