June 28th 2014 Syracuse man claims he was severely beaten by two Syracuse Police officers during his arrest on June 28. According to Jesse Ryder, the attorney for 51-year-old Alonzo Grant, his client suffered a number of injuries including a broken nose, split lip, facial lacerations and a concussion. Ryder says Grant called police to his home on Hudson Street to quell a verbal argument between his daughter and a female neighbor. Grant claims that when two police officers arrived, they ignored the statements by Mr.. Grant and his wife that his daughter had left and there was no longer any need for their help. September 10th 2014 All charges against Alonzo Grant, the Syracuse man who claimed police brutality in his arrest, have been dropped. Onondaga County District Attorney Bill Fitzpatrick announced Wednesday that the resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and harassment charges against Grant have been dismissed. The DA’s Office says that the above details do not support the charges.
